Kaleo Web Design

In my current role I wear many hats, which is one of reasons why I wanted to get experience at a start-up. I create all my own wireframes using Balsamiq, InVision, and Sketch following Google's Material Design principles and deliver user stories to a remote development team. Below are a few examples of my design work.

In product promotion

After launching our new Kaleo mobile app for iPhone I created a banner design for our web platform to promote our new offering.

Homepage re-design

Sometimes we forget that new users need a little help. If they have to dig to find resources then you've probably already lost them. Kaleo's homepage design was an early project I started based on feedback from some usability testing I had conducted. I found that getting started (searching a knowledge base) was daunting for many users. What should they search? How should they phrase a question? By populating their homepage with some examples and easy to find help articles at the bottom the task became less overwhelming and more intuitive. We saw a measurable up tick in user activity as a result!

Email Activity Digest

Everyday our inboxes are flooded with emails and spam. It has never been more difficult to claim valuable real estate space in someones inbox and get a second look. On a daily and weekly basis Kaleo sends automated email activity digests to users with information to help them stay engaged and learn about the content their co-workers are sharing. I took one look at the existing digests (see image on left) and realized it was time for an upgrade if we wanted to compete in this space. I designed a visual infographic (see image on the right) to grab a users attention and maximize above the fold visibility. Some improvements coming, that got cut from initial scope, are number values for each area of the piechart.
